A New Beginning... ish

Having already completed three of the four Units in our Two-year Art & Design Textiles course, for me, the finish line is in sight, so to speak! Beginning a new Unit is fantastic, as we can start on fresh, new ideas and look for new Artists & Designers who inspire us.

The briefs for our last three units were:

Historic Buildings & Distressed Surfaces,
concentrating on Stained-glass windows and geometric prints inspired by Holly Fulton-

My First Unit's Final Piece:

Art Movements, where I specialized in merging Vincent Van Gogh's Post-Impressionistic, Linear Style with Bob Barker's Tonalistic Style-

World Cultures, where I linked Oriental, African, Vintage American and Tribal Cultures into my final piece, concentrating on vintage lace work by Valentino-

My Final Piece for Unit 3:

I am extremely looking forward to starting the new Unit of work, especially trying out new techniques and effects, such as bleaching, felting, and layering to give more details and depth into my samples and final pieces.
